Challenge

Kohltech Windows and Systems, a leading manufacturer of window and door systems in Canada, faced a series of critical infrastructure challenges over the years, from structural weaknesses to aging facilities. The company required a trusted construction partner to provide durable, high-quality solutions that could withstand extreme weather conditions while allowing uninterrupted operations. Emergency Structural Reinforcement (2015) 

Problem: A collapsed roof due to record-breaking snowfall, revealing underlying structural weaknesses. 

EasCan’s Approach: Provided immediate on-site assessment and reinforcement of a 17,000 sq. ft. facility. 

Minimizing Disruption: EasCan scheduled construction around Kohltech’s 6:00 AM–1:00 AM production shifts, working overnight to prevent business disruptions. 

Major Facility Expansion (2018-2019) 

The Problem: Kohltech needed to expand operations with a 30,000 sq. ft. addition while keeping manufacturing running. 

EasCan’s Approach: Worked closely with general contractors to integrate EasCan into the project, ensuring quality craftsmanship. 

Beyond the Contract: Helped move 12,000 sq. ft. of manufacturing equipment—without it being part of the contract—demonstrating their commitment to Kohltech’s success. 

Roof Insulation & Energy Efficiency Improvements (2021, 2024) 

The Problem: Previous contractors had built roofs “on the cheap,” leading to leaks and poor insulation. 

EasCan’s Approach: Replaced 30,000 sq. ft. of roofing, adding six inches of insulation, removing skylights, and significantly improving temperature retention. 

Immediate Cost Savings: Post-installation, Kohltech measured an 8°C difference between floor and ceiling temperatures, setting the stage for thousands in annual heating savings. 

Shipping Department Expansion (2022) 

The Problem: A complex 11,000 sq. ft. expansion required navigating challenging land slopes, drainage issues, and existing infrastructure constraints. 

EasCan’s Approach: Worked collaboratively to problem-solve, offering solutions that minimized disruption. 

Trust in Action: Kohltech awarded the project to EasCan without requesting competing bids, relying on their proven track record.
